About Axion

Why we coach

Axion Athletics is a basketball development company in Greater Boston, founded by two coaches in 2026.

Our mission

Help every player in Greater Boston get better, love the game, and carry its lessons off the court.

Our purpose

Greater Boston has plenty of basketball. Much of it sells exposure, rankings and big promises. What's harder to find is consistent, patient teaching close to home: coaches who know your player's name, explain why a drill matters, and tell you honestly how they're doing.

That's what we built Axion to do. We keep groups small, we teach fundamentals before flash, and we coach effort and respect the same way we coach a jump shot.

What we won't do

  • Promise scholarships or a college spot
  • Call a group "elite" to sell it
  • Put more than eight players with one coach
  • Leave a coach alone with a child out of sight

Philosophy & method

Six rules that shape every session, from an 8-year-old's first clinic to a senior's private workout.

Teach, don't just train

Every drill has a reason, and players learn to explain it.

Fundamentals first

Footwork, passing and reading the defense come before the flashy stuff.

No one hides

Groups stay at eight players or fewer per coach, so everyone gets reps and feedback.

Character counts

Effort, coachability and respect are coached like any other skill.

Honest feedback

Families get progress reports. We make no recruiting promises we can't keep.

Safe by design

Every coach is background-checked, and no coach is ever alone with a child out of sight. Our policies

The Axion app

Each player gets their own plan: attendance, workouts for free time, and progress tracked over the season. Parents hold the account. Program and tournament registration will move into the app too.
